Installation is priced by linear feet of roofline, about $10 per foot with takedown about $3.25 per foot. Two-story homes, peaks, tree wraps and difficult access move the number up, which is why every lights job gets an in-person estimate.
Why other quotes say $2 to $6 per foot: those are labor-only numbers, hanging strands you bought and will store yourself, usually with takedown extra. Our number includes the commercial strands, the clips, the timer, a service call if a section fails, and January takedown on a scheduled date. Compare what is on the house and who owns it in January.

Strands come down, get tested and go into our storage for next year. Ground cleaned up both times.

Installation, materials and January takedown on one written estimate. Once we agree on the quote and your November week, a 50% deposit books the work. The balance is due after installation.

We install, set the timer and check the lights at dusk, then return for the agreed January takedown. If a section goes out, text us and we come back.

When should I book Christmas light installation in Portland?
Request your estimate ahead of the holiday season so there is time to agree on the design and installation. We confirm actual availability and weather-dependent timing with your quote.
Do you supply the lights?
The estimate covers both options: HomeHaven-supplied commercial-grade strands, or hanging strands you already own if they test good. Commercial strands and clips generally outlast box-store lights.
Is takedown included?
Takedown is quoted with the install, about $3.25 per roofline foot, and scheduled for January so the lights come down on time.

What if a section goes out during the season?

Can you hang lights on gutters with gutter guards?
Yes. Lights attach with clips, never staples or nails. Guards with a raised lip take a lip clip; flat mesh guards take a shingle tab so the bulb sits just above the guard. We clean and flush the gutters on the same visit if you add gutter cleaning to the quote.
What happens when it rains for six weeks?
Nothing, if the connections are off the ground. Commercial strands and clips are made for a Portland winter. We hang every cord join, point the plugs down and keep the display on its own outdoor GFCI outlet, which is what stops the December trips.
Do you install permanent Christmas lights?
No. Permanent track systems are licensed contractor work in Oregon. If you want color that changes for more than one holiday without a track on the house, the two-holiday strand does that for $1,000 to $1,500 on a typical single-story front and comes down in January.
Do you do inflatables, yard displays or tree wraps?
